BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- Cristhian Pedroza scored on an error in the eighth inning, leading the Hudson Valley Renegades to a 5-4 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters on Wednesday.

The play started the scoring in a three-run inning and broke a scoreless tie. Later in the inning, Garrett Hiott scored on an error and Luis Arcendo scored on a pickoff.

Trailing 5-2, the Lake Monsters cut into the deficit in the ninth inning when Yerdel Vargas hit a two-run home run.

Jose Roca (1-0) got the win in relief while Angello Infante (0-1) took the loss in the New York-Penn League game.
