Seven different Porterville College men’s basketball players finished in double digits after the Pirates defeated West Hills Lemoore 111-50 in a Central Valley Conference game Wednesday on the road.
Freshman Treager Wallace led the team with 20 points while sophomore Elijah Cardenas finished with 17, sophomore Da’Morea Green had 14, freshman Dominic King had 13, sophomores DJ Wilson and Germaine Caldwell had 12 each and freshman Tayshawun Bradford tallied 11.
The Pirates host their first home CVC game Saturday at 6 p.m. where they’ll take on College of the Sequoias.
Strathmore boys basketball defeated Woodlake 76-58 on the road in Wednesday’s East Sequoia League game.
William Reece had a career-high 26 points with five 3-pointers. Josue Topete finished with 12 points, James Anderson and Angel Luviano had nine each and Jadon Guire totaled seven points.
“[Miguel] Samano, Topete and Reece were very good in our press,” SHS head coach Justin St. Clair said. “Guire is starting to play better, which is a huge lift for us. Anderson did a great job finishing in the paint.”
St. Clair added, “Reece’s energy level is unmatchable. He has shot the ball well the last two games. Definitely one of the top players in our league.”

Granite Hills boys basketball put up double digits in every quarter to beat Sierra Pacific 62-39 at home in Wednesday’s East Sequoia League game.
Abraham Gabinete led the team with 18 points, Austin Edmond had 14, Armando Cabrera had 12 and Miguel Felix had 11.
