Not only is Porterville High School's boys cross country team ranked No. 1 in the Central California Division IV rankings, but the Panthers are now in the overall top 25.

Porterville debuted at No. 23 in the overall rankings after being ranked 27th last week. They are the only Div. IV team ranked top 25 overall.

Moving up one spot in the Div. I and overall rankings were Monache boys. The Marauders are now seventh and 13th, respectively. There were no changes to the top five spots in Div. V and Granite Hills boys remain ranked fourth.

In girls ranking, Monache is still ranked fourth in Div. I and eighth overall while Lindsay dropped one place to eighth in Div. III. Granite Hills is still ranked sixth in Div. V.

Porterville High School boys water polo defeated Kingsburg 13-6 on the road in a non-league game Wednesday.

The Panthers are 7-3 on the season and don't play a game again until Wednesday, Oct. 2 when they start East Yosemite League play with Tulare Western (12-1).
