Granite Hills High School boys basketball remain at the top of the East Sequoia League standings after downing Lindsay 53-24 in Friday’s ESL game on the road.
The Grizzlies’ Miguel Felix led all scorers with 14 points while teammates Armando Cabrera and Abraham Gabinete chipped in 13 points each. Cabrera also led the team with three 3-pointers.
For the Cardinals, Nick Dunning led the team with eight points.
Granite Hills is now 5-0 in ESL and 14-6 overall. Their next game is Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. when they host Woodlake.
Strathmore boys basketball defeated Farmersville 79-58 in Friday’s East Sequoia League game at home.
The Spartans were up 36-29 at halftime but ended the third quarter down 49-47. However Strathmore outscored Farmersville 32-9 in the fourth for the win.
William Reece led the team with 21 points and had five 3-pointers. Jadon Guire had 15 points and made three 3-pointers. Owen Patterson finished with 14 points, Andrew Gonzalez had 10 and Moses Bower had six.
“Reece continues to lead us.” SHS head coach Justin St. Clair said. “Another great night from him. This was Guire’s best all-around game so far. He brings a lot of leadership on the court for us. Patterson continues to grow offensively. Bower and Gonzalez gave us huge minutes in the fourth quarter. Our guys gave us max effort tonight.”
Strathmore is now 14-4 overall and 2-2 in league. The Spartans travel to Sierra Pacific Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
