Sixth-seeded Lindsay High School boys soccer lost 4-3 to third-seeded Shafter in golden-goal overtime of Thursday's CIF Central Section Division IV quarterfinal game on the road.

Daniel Perez scored two goals for the Cardinals while Emiliano Corona had one.

Lindsay finished the season with a 13-7-3 overall record and 7-4-1 in the East Sequoia League.

Sixth-seeded Porterville High School boys soccer lost 3-0 to third-seeded Lemoore in Thursday's CIF Central Section Division III quarterfinal game on the road.

The Panthers finished the season with a 14-10 overall record and 6-4 in the East Yosemite League.

After a very sluggish first quarter, Strathmore High School girls basketball was able to put together a couple of spurts and pull away from the Cardinals of Lindsay 59-36 in Wednesday's East Sequoia League game on the road.

The Spartans were led once again by Jazmine Soto, who had a double-double with 43 points and 10 steals. Yvette Gutierrez contributed six points and seven rebounds.

Strathmore finished 25-4 overall and 10-2 in ESL. The Spartans now wait to see who their next opponent is start the Central Section Division V playoffs.

Summit Charter 2

Firebaugh 1

Eighth-seeded Summit Charter Collegiate Academy's girls soccer defeated ninth-seeded Firebaugh 2-1 in Wednesday's CIF Central Section Division VI opening round game at home.

Goals were scored by Azzami Rosso and Ayana Monjaras. SCCA's head coach is Ryne Quiroz.

The Bears next game is Friday at top-seeded Frazier Mountain High School.

Dos Palos 0

Sixth-seeded Lindsay High School girls soccer defeated 11th-seeded Dos Palos 4-0 in Wednesday's CIF Central Section Division V opening round game at home.

Isabella Duran scored two goals while Cayli Carrillo and Marycruz Nerto had one each.

The Cardinals next game is Friday at third-seeded Rosamond.
