Trinity Lutheran Church will celebrate the beginning of the Advent season on Dec. 5 with a worship service at 7 p.m.
This is a family-friendly worship service and is intended to provide a time to anticipate and reflect upon Christ’s coming in to the world.
Similar services will be held Dec. 12 and 19. Each will feature special music on the different nights by the Porterville Ringers, Musica Viva with Cellist Dieter Wulfhorst and Violinist Susan Doering, and the Porterville Community Strings.
Preceding the services will be a light dinner served at 6 p.m. There is no charge for the supper.
During the Advent season, there will be a presentation of Trinity’s Christmas Cantata on Sunday, Dec. 16. It is titled “Sunday School Christmas Memories.” It celebrates the miracle of Christmas through the performance of familiar carols and narration.
