On Wednesday at approximately 4:25 p.m., Porterville Police Department Special Investigation Unit detectives conducted a traffic enforcement stop of a vehicle in the 800 block of South Jaye Street and contacted driver Billy Blount, Jr., and passengers Justin Hernandez and Steven Holt.

As detectives approached Blount, he discarded approximately two ounces of methamphetamine packaged for sales which was recovered by detectives. During the investigation, detectives determined Blount was driving with a suspended driver’s license and was under the influence of a controlled substance. Hernandez and Holt were also determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. All three subjects were taken into custody and during a subsequent search of the vehicle, a stun gun and a billy club were located.

Detectives served a search warrant at Blount’s residence and located an additional ¼ ounce of methamphetamine and drug indicia associated to the use and sale of methamphetamine. It was also determined Blount’s 22-month-old child resided with him at the residence and the contraband located was easily accessible by the child.

Blount was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale, Transportation of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Residence for Drug Sales/Use, Possession of a Billy Club, Possession of a Stun Gun by a Drug Addict, Child Endangerment, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and for Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. He's being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Justin Hernandez was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale, Transportation of Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and for Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. He's being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Steven Holt was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale, Transportation of Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and for Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. He's being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
