A staple piece of Porterville history, The Cellar Steakhouse, has been temporarily closed for a short period of time as the ownership of the restaurant has changed.
But on Thursday afternoon, the doors to The Cellar opened back up to welcome hungry guests out looking for a delicious burger or steak.
On the steakhouse's Facebook, a post from August 12 read “Keeping the long tradition of ice cold beer and great steaks! The Cellar Steakhouse will be open this Thursday, August 15th, at 3 p.m.! See you there!” indicating the restaurant would be reopening for their first lunch service since the temporary closing.
In a brief conversation with one of the new owners, he stated that The Cellar's menu would be remaining the same, and that no renovations have been done to the building. His main goal is to keep the tradition of The Cellar alive and well for the City of Porterville.
The treasured steakhouse is now reopen to the public, and the new owners are eager to serve the community. The Cellar is located at 244 S. Main Street.
Look for next Thursday’s edition of the Recorder for a full interview with The Cellar's new owners, and their plans for the future of The Cellar.
