Strathmore Plazita

After two weather postponements, the Lindsay Chamber of Commerce was finally able to hold their first Strathmore Plazita last Saturday night. The event was very well received by the community. Twenty-eight vendors, a band, and a beer garden helped make the event a success. Chamber Director Virginia Loya was pleased with the opening night attendance by both vendors and public. Things started a bit slow at 6 p.m., but as the sun set and the temperature dropped, all ages could be seen enjoying shaved ice, aqua frescas, churros, roasted corn, stuffed baked potatoes, and bacon wrapped hotdogs. Bounce houses and pony rides kept many kids busy. Items for sale ranged from jewelry and plants to rubber chickens. Loya anticipates the event will get bigger and better as the weeks go on. The Strathmore Plazita will be held every Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 19308 Orange Belt Dr, Strathmore, CA. For more information, contact Virginia Loya at (559) 333-1994.
