Seven people were arrested for numerous firearms and drug offenses after Porterville Police responded to a residence in the 400 block of North El Granito late Tuesday night.

Jimmy Garmon, 52, Kelleen Prado, 41, Coby Richerson, 40, Angel Rubio, 40, Jason Beeman, 38, Alberto Cota, 38 and Cesar Domingo, 27, all of Porterville were all arrested. Charges ranged from Felon in Possession of a Firearm, maintaining a residence for use of drugs, possession of methamphetamine, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, parole violation and arrest warrants.

At about 11:20 p.m Tuesday, Porterville Police Officers responded to the residence to locate a wanted subject. When officers arrived, they contacted the resident Garmon, along with Prado, Rubio, Richerson, Beeman, Cota and Domingo.

During the investigation, Officers observed drug paraphernalia displayed throughout the residence. Officers administered Field Sobriety Tests to Garmon, Prado, Rubio, Richerson, Beeman, Cota and Domingo and determined they were all under the influence of a controlled substance. Officers determined the residence was being maintained for drug use. All the subjects were arrested without incident at which time Cota, who’s also a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of a firearm.

Beeman was ultimately booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance and two misdemeanor warrants. Beeman is being held in lieu of $170,000 bail.

Cota was ultimately booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s South County Detention Facility on charges of a felon in possession of a firearm; being under the influence of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; a felony warrant; and three misdemeanor warrants. Cota is being held in lieu of $215,000 bail.

Garmon was ultimately booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s South County Detention Facility on charges of maintaining a residence for drug use and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Garmon is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Domingo was ultimately booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s South County Detention Facility on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of methamphetamine; and a Parole hold. Domingo is being held without bail

Rubio was ultimately booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s South County Detention Facility on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance; and a felony warrant. Rubio is being held in lieu of $60,000 bail.

Prado was booked at the Porterville Police Department on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia and later released on a citation. 

Richerson was booked at the Porterville Police Department on a charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance and later released on a citation.
