Wednesday at approximately 7:58 a.m., Porterville Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence located in the 400 block of West Date Avenue regarding a male subject, subsequently identified as 43-year-old Porterville resident Christopher Campos, who was unconscious and not breathing. 

Officers and medical personnel arrived on scene and located Christopher, who had visible trauma wounds to several parts of his body. Christopher was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical staff. Porterville Police Department Detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation.

Porterville Police Detectives executed a search warrant at the residence and interviewed several family members, including the victim’s cousin, 44-year-old Andrew Campos. Evidence collected by Porterville Police Detectives led to Andrew Campos being arrested and charged with his cousin’s murder.

Andrew Campos was eventually booked into the custody of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and is being held without bail. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact
