Danae and Greg Hartsell have been co-owners of Fashion Network, a long time women’s fashion clothing store on Main Street that has been a mainstay of the community for almost 40 years. The Hartsells own the business with Greg’s sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Fritz Stieb.

Due to Greg’s passing away on October 8, Danae and her family have decided to close the store that has been in business for well over 30 years. Danae said, “We’re going out of business, and the last day is October 31.

“Susie has worked at Fashion Network from the very beginning, and since my husband passed away, we have decided to close the store, so we can focus on our long term family owned business Greg’s Hula Towing, that has been in operation for over 40 years.

“We bought Fashion Network in 2017,” said Danae, “The previous owner Sandy Powell owned the store and started it.

“This Saturday, October 26, we will have music, cotton candy, refreshments, and heavy discounts on all of our clothing for juniors, contemporary, and juniors plus sizes. There are brands such as KUT Jeans, Celebrity Pink, and more. There is jewelry, purses, shoes, and accessories. Even a new shipment of boots.

“Everything must go, as well as the store fixtures; like clothes racks, decor, furniture, hangers, mannequins, and all the store business equipment, like printers, and such.”

“I started here at Fashion Network 36 years ago,” said Powell, “This was a great business. But everything comes to an end, unfortunately. The location is great on Main Street, and I’m looking forward to seeing a new business venture open here.”

Long time customer Denise Rafanan was sad and emotional, and said, “This store has been one of my favorite places to shop since it opened. I love the boutique feel of the store, and I love Susie and Danae like family,” she said dabbing away tears, “It’s been a great family oriented store for many years. And I just want God to watch over their family. Whatever journey he takes them on.

“I can’t stop crying.”

Another long time friend, Brooke Grigsby, said, “I’ve been shopping here since high school and it’s really hard to see such a great institution on Main Street close.”

She reminded customers and people who have “Fashion Network Bucks” or gift certificates they must be used by Saturday, October 26. American Automobile Association (AAA) customers will receive an extra 10 percent off their purchase.

Fashion Network is located at 162 N. Main Street, and is open from 10 a.m until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information call: 784-8144.
