A reception to recognize Native American graduating seniors was held at the Oak Pit Restaurant on Tuesday, May 21, and was hosted by the Tule River Tribal Council and the Porterville Unified School District.

The reception recognized all Native Americans in the school system. Students came from Oregon, Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, CA, Porterville and Burton School districts, and outside areas, said Rondii Nieto, Public Relations for the Tule River Tribe.

Graduating seniors received certificates from Porterville Unified School District and the Tule River Tribal Council and a beaded lanyard made by Kea Ortiz.
