A motorcycle rider was seriously injured in a traffic accident Saturday afternoon, the Porterville Police Department reported.
Seth Gonzalez, 18, of Porterville, was transported to a Fresno trauma center for medical treatment. Gonzalez was listed in critical condition at the hospital.
At approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday, officers with the Porterville Police Department responded to the intersection of Newcomb Street and Memory Avenue regarding an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle versus a motorcyclist.
Officers with the Porterville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and assumed the investigation. During the investigation, officers determined Gonzalez was traveling southbound on Newcomb Street when he collided with a vehicle driven by Harry Frame, 68, of Woodlake, as Frame was turning northbound Newcomb Street from Memory Avenue.
Gonzalez was traveling the speed limit when the collision occurred and was thrown from his motorcycle. Neither Frame nor his passengers were injured as a result of the collision.
Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in this collision.
