State Assemblyman Devon Mathis, R-Visalia, has accepted an invitation to be a guest on the TROOPATHON 8: Care Packages for our Heroes webathon on today.
As a Purple Heart Veteran and the only California Legislator to be invited to participate, Assemblyman Mathis will share the importance of care packages for troops serving overseas.
Troopathon is a once-a-year, month-long campaign held by Move America Forward, a nonprofit that serves American troops. Proceeds will be used to send care packages to the troops.
In past years the webathon raised over $4.2 million.
Mathis will also host a Community Coffee event with Visalia Mayor Steve Nelson on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The Picnic Sandwich Shop at 114 W Main St. in Visalia.
