Several people were arrested involving an identity theft ring after an investigation by the Porterville Police Department’s Neighborhood Crime Suppression Unit.

Haley Robertson, 25 of Oregon, Joshua Lymon, 30 of Bakersfield, Kyle Lisman, 23 of Bakersfield and Christina Johnston, 28 of Ridgecrest were all arrested as a result of the investigation.

Shortly after midnight early Friday morning, officers began an investigation into an identity theft ring after Robertson was contacted in the parking lot of the Palm Tree Inn, 940 West Morton Avenue. Robertson was arrested for a warrant out of Sonoma County and found to be in possession of mail determined to be stolen from five different nearby residences.

Further investigation led officers to a room at Motel 6 where they contacted Lymon who was on felony probation in Kern County.  A search of the room revealed numerous used syringes and glass pipes used to smoke methamphetamine.  Also located in the room was a cache of mail stolen from 29 different locations in Porterville, several credit cards belonging to approximately a dozen different people, a forged check, and personal information, including Social Security numbers, for different people. Robertson and Lyman were arrested for Identity Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, and for being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.

Officers later located two additional persons related to this investigation in the Motel 6 parking lot.  Johnston and Lisman were contacted and provided officers with false names.

Once their true identity was determined, Johnston was arrested for a parole violation warrant and identity theft. Lisman was determined to be on felony probation in Kern County and had removed his ankle monitor.

Lisman was found to have three warrants for his arrest and to be in possession of methamphetamine and burglary tools. Additionally, mailbox keys and heroin was located in the vehicle owned by Lyman and being operated by Lisman.

All suspects were booked at the Tulare County Jail. Robertson’s bail has been set at $55,000.00. Lyman’s bail has been set at $50,000.00. Lisman’s bail has been set at $70,000.00. Johnston is being held without bail.
