Porterville felt the aftershocks of two more earthquakes centered in the Ridgecrest area on Friday night.
The Ridgecrest area has continued to be hit by numerous earthquakes after what was then the biggest earthquake in 20 years in the area on Thursday, Independence Day.
But another earthquake in the Ridgecrest area that was felt in Porterville was even bigger than the one on Thursday. Shortly after 8:30 p.m., Porterville felt the earthquake in the Ridgecrest area that measured 7.1.
That was even bigger than the earthquake centered in the Ridgcrest area felt in the Porterville area on Thursday morning that measured 6.4.
Much smaller aftershocks could be felt in Porterville about 20 minutes after the 7.1 earthquake.
Earlier Friday there was also a 5.4 earthquake that hit the Ridgecrest area.
