Next week, Daniela Paniagua Fuerte, a College of the Sequoias student from Lindsay who’s served by the SEE Youth Program, will visit San Jose to receive a scholarship from the California Workforce Association (CWA).
Each year, CWA awards the Dwight Brydie Memorial Scholarship to young people served by community organizations such as the SEE Youth Program to assist them in achieving their educational and employment goals. This year, CWA is providing nine $1000 scholarships at its annual youth conference, Youth@Work.
Linda Patino, employment services coordinator for SEE Youth, reports that Fuerte’s future plans are to work within the education system in a program like the SEE program where she can assist young people in finding their career pathway and the resources needed to reach their goals.
The SEE Youth Program works in partnership with the Tulare County Workforce Investment Board to offer a variety of training and employment services to young people ages 16-21 in the Porterville area.
