Don’t miss the action packed carnival for kids today at the Sports Complex! All rides open at 11:00 am and include a 100 ft. giant slide, teacup ride, jump around dune buggies and a reckless cyclone.

Plus, there will be bounce houses, a petting zoo, face painting, informational booths, food vendors and more!

Local performers will be taking the stage throughout the day and there will be a special magic show from The Great Johnathan at 11:45 am and a reptile show from E & M’s Reptile Family at 1:30 p.m.

The event is designed for children ages 2-12, but the whole family can enjoy the festivities.

Wristbands will be on sale at Kids Fest for $7 which will allow the children to participate on any of the attractions. We are looking forward to a beautiful day and a great time!

A huge thanks to our presenting sponsor Giovanni’s Pizzeria- a major supporter of this event for several years now. Our other generous sponsors include Sierra View Medical Center, Town & Country Market, State Farm Agent Maria Garcia, Beneficial State Bank, Hoops Preschool and the Porterville Breakfast Lions Club. This event would not be what it is without friends like these!

Youth Track Meet

We are hosting a youth track and field meet on April 6 at Granite Hills High School. The meet is open to

Music on Main

Music on Main kicks off next Friday with a special twist- Music and Market on Main Street. Every first Friday of the April, May and June series there will be fun activities and local vendor booths.

Regular entertainment will continue every Friday evening through the end of June with the exception of a few dates: April 26 when we take a break to prepare downtown for the annual Iris Festival; May 17 to support the Porterville Fair; May 25 for the holiday weekend.

The concert series is a coordinated effort by the Porterville Chamber of Commerce and Porterville Parks and Leisure Services. It is completely free to the community. Bring your chair or blanket out Friday evenings at 6 p.m. and join us for some localtalent.

Check out the Chamber’s website for more details.
