Four motorcycle riders killed by driver under influence, CHP states
Four motorcycle riders were killed by a driver under the influence driving the wrong way early Sunday morning, the California Highway Patro stated.
Porterville CHP responded to a crash at Highway 65 and Avenue 196 in Strathmore. Jazmine Paramo, 24, was driving a 1999 Infinity QX4 northbound on Highway 65 the wrong way in the southbound lanes.
A 48-year-old male driver and 41-year-old female passenger were riding a 2000 Harley Davidson Fatboy motorcycle southbound on Highway 65 just north of Avenue 196.
A 42-year-old male with a 40-year-old female passenger were also riding a 2004 Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle southbound on Highway 65 north of Avenue 196.
Paramo collided head on with both motorcycles. All four passengers on the motorcycles died as a result of the crash.
Paramo was transported via Sky Life Air Ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with moderate to major injuries.
Preliminary investigation has determined Paramo was driving under the influence. She was arrested for driving under the influence. The collision remains under investigation.
