The Burton Bulldog Marching Band placed fourth overall on Saturday at the Visalia Band Invitational. 

The band also finished first in Division III, easily beating its closest competition in that division.  The band also had the top scores overalll out of 15 middle schools in marching and showmanship.

The band finished fourth overall behind first place Sutter Middle School in Fowler, second place Liberty Middle School in Hanford and third place Sequoia Middle School of Porterville.

Burton band director Jack Amaral sad the band has focused on its marching skills and it paid off in Visalia and at the Big Fresno Fair Band Festival where the band also won the marching sweepstakes award. Amaral also said the Burton Bulldog Auxiliary Team has been a big help in showmanship as it has been on point with its routine and energy level.

The Burton Bulldog Front Banner team also placed second and drum major Ele Franklin won another award, taking second as well. The Burton Bulldog Drumline finished third and the Bulldog flag team improved on its finish at the Big Fresno Fair, taking fifth.  

The Burton Bulldog Marching Band will look to build on its already successful marching season this Saturday at the Fowler Band Review.
