The Recorder created this database from public records provided by agencies in the Porterville area following requests for gross wages earned by public workers in Fiscal Year 2009-10, including, but not limited to, overtime pay, paid time off, bonuses, benefit packages and expense accounts, such as car and phone allowances. In some cases, agencies interpreted the request to include retirement benefits, such as employer contributions to CalPERS, California's public pension system. Such benefits are included in the category "other pay." Not all agencies, such as the City of Porterville, included retirement contributions in its response. The "base pay" results are the wages earned by employees outside of those benefits. In some cases, the "other pay" category shows a negative balance, likely the result of deductions paid by teachers for docked pay. Combined, the two categories equal results enumerated in the "total pay" category.
None of the data presented here has been changed from what was released to The Recorder by each agency.
The database is not yet complete, so keep checking back for agencies not currently listed.
