Pleasant View West Elementary School that was chosen to host educators from Hungary as part of a exchange of ideas and sharing of information.

The local chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers who will be collecting donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association this Saturday during the Firehouse Chili Cook-Off.

Tule River Reservation Fire Department that responded quickly to extinguish two grass fires on Tuesday, preventing much larger fires.

The Porterville High Motorsports team that displayed their race car at the recent Monterrey Classic Car Show.

Former Sequoia National Forest supervisor Art Gaffrey who shared his experience as an agriculture adviser in Iraq from 2008-10.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who picked grapes last weekend to benefit those less fortunate.

The Strathmore High School ensemble who returned from their tour of Scotland.

Granite Hills High School graduate Angelica Reyes who has been named one of the Smittcamp Scholars at Fresno State University.

Porterville’s Bear Pascoe, now a member of the New York Giants, who has had his picture placed on a Gatorade label.

All of those volunteers who made last weekend’s Stan Dandy Memorial Hot Summer Nights Bull Bash in Springville a success, and to the organizers for honoring the late Stan Dandy.

All of those folks who man the gates, work the sidelines and help make Friday night football games special.

Westfield Elementary School that wrapped up its Olympic Games this week.

City of Porterville that is allowing the Tulare County Court System to use City Hall one day a week to hold court proceedings because the court is squeezed for space right now.
