TULARE COUNTY

Applications for the 2013 Step Up Youth Activities Grant Program are now being accepted by the Tulare County Youth Commission. Grants totaling $100,000 are available for 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that operate within Tulare County.

The grant program provides monetary support for non profits that provide programs and services for at-risk youth under 18. However, preference is given to many organizations; including those that work with youth in a gang area, work with youth in gangs, or youth that are exposed to gangs.

“The Board is committed to providing positive activities for youth,” said Allen Ishida, Chairman of the Tulare County Board of Supervisors. “This funding empowers our non-profit organizations to provide services to youth that better their lives.”

There is $20,000 in funding available for each Supervisorial district and grants will be awarded in amounts ranging between $5,000 and $10,000.

Visit www.stepuptc.com to download all Step Up Youth Activities Grant Program documents.

The deadline to submit an application for a grant is 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26. Late applications will not accepted.

For more information, contact Youth Commission staffer Tammie Weyker at 636-5000 ortweyker@co.tulare.ca.us.
