Building picks up in city during August
PORTERVILLE
Porterville saw the busiest month of the year in construction during August when the city issued six permits for new homes.
In addition to the new homes, the city issued a permit for a $400,000 commercial building and another $645,000 in commercial remodelings.
The value of the six homes was $1.2 million and the total value for the month was $2.9 million, bringing the total for the year to $10.8 million. That still trails the total for the end of August last year when the city had total valuation of $14 million.
