Barbed wire collectors to gather in Springville

Members of the California Barbed Wire Collectors’ Association will hold their 44th annual meeting and show on March 22-23 at the Veterans Memorial Building in Springville.

This will be the first show in this area of California since 1969.

The nation-wide group will come from several states showing their displays. Many exceedingly rare and unusual wires will be exhibited. Virtually every type that has been found will be on display. There were over 2000 different types and most were off the market by 1900.

There will be lots of trading, selling, and buying that will take place.

Doors will be open to the public at 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, with a live auction to benefit the club beginning at 2 p.m.

Admission is free to the public. New members are always welcome, and all those interested in viewing the displays and learning more about barbed wire are encouraged to attend this event.
