Crime Blotter 11/30/12
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.
Friday, Nov. 30
Residential Burglary
Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Second Street regarding a residential burglary. The victim stated that sometime today between 3 p.m. and 4:40 p.m., suspect(s) entered the residence through the unlocked front door and stole cash from a dresser in the bedroom. Physical evidence was located at the scene.
Warrant Arrests
Officers contacted John Chavez, 21, and Chayenne Sanchez, 21, on Olive Avenue at E Street. Chavez had three warrants and Sanchez had two warrants. Both were arrested.
Warrant Arrest
Officers stopped Jesus Palacios, 47, for a bicycle violation on Olive Avenue at Olive Terrace Street. Palacios had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested.
Search Warrant
Detectives wrote a search warrant for a residence in the 900 block of North G Street. During the service of the search warrant, detectives contacted Miguel Garcia and his wife, Mirlene Garcia as they attempted to flush approximately an ounce of methamphetamine down the toilet when detectives arrived. Detectives managed to recover the narcotics and both were arrested. They were booked into the Tulare County Jail.
Burglary
Officers investigated the report of a residential burglary at a residence in the 700 block of North Balmoral Street. Jewelry and miscellaneous items were taken from the residence. Evidence was located at the scene and the report was forwarded to detectives for further investigation.
