Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted Joshua Kitts,25. He was arrested and cited for an outstanding warrant.
Officers conducted a check of a residence in the 1800 block of West Westfield Avenue and contacted Scott Crowder. He was arrested for a felony warrant charging four counts of grand theft and he was booked into jail.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Grand Avenue and Prospect Street. Robert Menchaca, 39, had an outstanding warrant, for which he was arrested and booked into jail.
Possess Narcotics / Under the Influence / Warrant Arrest
Officers responded to a reported trespass in the 1000 block of North Beverly Street. Officers contacted Chris Sanchez, 22, who was found to be in possession of ½ gram of cocaine and under the influence of such. He was arrested and booked into jail. Also contacted was Andrew Oliva, 23, who had an outstanding felony warrant. He too was booked into jail.
Officers responded to the 700 block of West Orange Avenue and arrested Roy Barrera, 28, on five outstanding warrants. He was booked into jail.
Misuse of 9-1-1
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Olive Avenue in regards to a female calling 911 stating that she was going to kill herself. Officers contacted Lara Benson, 43, and information received was that Benson had been arrested and released by Visalia PD earlier in the day. She was subsequently detained for a welfare check and refused treatment at KDH so she was transported to SVDH. Night shift and mental health dealt with her on four separate occasions, each time she was cleared medically for release. She told officers that she was homeless and would keep calling police stating that she wanted to kill herself until someone found her a place to live. Based on her statements and previous contacts she was arrested and booked into jail.
Protective Order Violation / Criminal Threats
Officers responded to the 900 block of East Thurman Avenue to locate Darrin Wright, 29, who was wanted for a violation of a domestic violence protective order and for threats to his ex-girlfriend. Wright was contacted and arrested without incident and he was booked into the county jail.
Officers responded to a burglary in progress at the apartment complex in the 400 block of West Springville Drive. The victim stated that she came home and found her rear sliding door open and several items missing from her apartment.
