Crime Blotter 06/05/12

Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Carjacking Arrest
Officers continued follow up investigation in efforts to locate suspect, Arnold Verdugo, 36, in regard to a previously reported carjacking. Officers located Verdugo in the 1400 block of North Cottage Street after receiving anonymous information that he was at an apartment. Verdugo was taken into custody without incident but the vehicle was not located. He was booked into the county jail.

Commercial Burglary
Officers responded to Walmart regarding a reported shoplifting. Loss Prevention had detained Alexander Doster, 19, for theft. Doster also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Daniel Lucio Jr., 23, near Putnam Avenue and Baker Street. He was found to have an outstanding warrant, for which he was arrested and later cited from the PD.

Under the Influence
Officers contacted Sativa White, 28, in front of the police department. White was evaluated and determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. White was booked into the county jail.

Warrant Arrest
Officers responded to the Tav-Cam Motel regarding a report of child neglect. Euteva Rush, 31, was contacted and found to have an outstanding warrant out of Colorado. The child neglect allegations were unfounded. Rush was arrested and booked into the county jail pending extradition to Colorado.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Scott Benedict, 28, in the 200 block of South Indiana Street. He was found to have an outstanding warrant, for which he was arrested and cited form the PD.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Benigo Garcia, 39, at Veterans Park. A records check revealed an outstanding warrant. Garcia was arrested and later cited.

Residential Burglary
Officers responded to an apartment in the 100 block of South A Street in regard to a burglary in progress. The witness reported seeing a male subject force open a window of an apartment climb inside. The witness observed the suspects leave the residence a short time later, it is unknown what was taken.

Warrant Arrest
Officers responded to the area of Olive Avenue and Main Street in regard to a possibly intoxicated male subject. Steven Buhler, 23, was contacted and was determined to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Jenelle Galindo, 25, in the area of Olive Avenue and Taylor Street. A records check on Galindo revealed an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, for which she was arrested and cited from the PD.
