Man sentenced for first-degree murder

VISALIA
Tulare County Judge Brett Alldredge sentenced 22-year-old Marco Navarro of Kingsburg, to 34 years, 8 months to Life in state prison for the killing of Tony Jimenez, 50, a group home counselor in Visalia.
The sentence was the maximum allowable by law.
A jury found Navarro guilty on Aug.1. The jury further found the defendant guilty of threatening a witness with a knife and vehicle theft.
The murder took place in the late evening hours of June 24, 2007. According to the autopsy report, Mr. Jimenez was stabbed 92 times.
