Crime blotter 11/23/12
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Auto Theft
Officers responded to the 900 block of West Putnam Avenue regarding a stolen Chevy Silverado. The victim stated that a suspect stole his truck while it was parked in his driveway.
Residential Burglary
Officers responded to the 500 block of West Henderson Avenue regarding a residential burglary. The victim stated suspect(s) gained access to her residence through a bedroom window and stole miscellaneous jewelry and coins.
Auto Theft
Officers contacted a victim at the police department regarding a stolen vehicle. The victim reported that suspect(s) stole his Chevy Cavalier while it was parked at his workplace of Foster Farms.
Public Intoxication
Officers responded to Motel 6 regarding an unwanted subject call. Jose Barrajas, 45, was contacted and determined to be intoxicated to the extent that he could not care for himself. He was taken into custody and transported to TCSO.
DUI
Officers contacted Johnny Campos at Leggett Street and Morton Avenue during a suspicious subject call. Campos was contacted in the driver seat of his vehicle, passed out. He was subsequently determined to be DUI and was taken into custody.
Auto Theft
Officers responded to the 700 block of West Union Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle. The victim reported her Pontiac Grand Prix was taken by her aunt, Stacy Corona, from her residence without permission. The victim reported the vehicle stolen and it is suspected to be somewhere at the Tule Indian Reservation.
Residential Burglary
Officers responded to the 100 block of East Garden Avenue regarding a residential burglary. The victims reported that suspect(s) broke into their residence and stole their Mitsubishi 60-inch television. Physical evidence was located at the scene and the case remains under investigation.
Strong Arm Robbery
Officers responded to The Heritage Center regarding multiple suspects assaulting one subject. Officers arrived and contacted the victim who was suffering from bruising to his right eye. The victim stated that four subjects approached him while he was at The Heritage Center and asked him if he had any narcotics. The victim stated that when he told the subjects he did not have narcotics, one of them grabbed him by the arm and pulled him down to the ground. Once on the ground, all four suspects began assaulting him. During the assault, the suspects stole his blue and white BMX-style bicycle, and approximately $30 in cash from his right front pocket. Officers located a juvenile who matched the description in the area. The juvenile suspect fled from officers into a residence in the 100 block of South B Street. Officers detained the suspect and he was also in possession of a prohibited switchblade knife. The juvenile was identified as being involved in the robbery and was arrested and later booked at the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility.
Located Stolen Vehicle
Officers responded to the 900 block of West Putnam Avenue regarding a located stolen vehicle. The victim stated that her husband found their stolen 2001 Chevy Silverado by Monache High School and drove it home.
Petty Theft
Officers responded to Walmart regarding a petty theft report. The victim reported that suspect(s) entered his unlocked 1985 GMC Jimmy and stole two jackets and the face plate to his Kenwood stereo.
Hit and Run Traffic Accident
Officers responded to the sub-100 block of West Danner Avenue regarding a report of a hit and run traffic collision. A Ford Mustang rear ended a parked Chevy Blazer, which caused the vehicle to run into a second parked vehicle, a Dodge Stratus. Witnesses observed two subjects fleeing from the Mustang northbound on Lime Street toward Henderson Avenue. The registered owner of the Mustang was contacted and provided paperwork which indicated he had previously sold the vehicle. The Mustang was towed from the scene and further investigation will follow.
Resist Arrest / Public Intoxication
Officers responded Leggett Street and Putnam Avenue regarding a fight in progress. A juvenile suspect was seen leaving the area and was contacted by an officer. The juvenile refused to comply with orders to stop and attempted to pull away when he was being detained. He was taken into custody without incident. The juvenile also displayed symptoms of intoxication and his family reported he had arrived at the residence intoxicated. Family members attempted to detain him from leaving; however, he fled the area when officers arrived. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Facility where he was booked.
Burglary
Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Thurman Avenue regarding a report of a vehicle burglary. The victim reported that suspect(s) shattered her drive side window and stole her purse.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Criminal Threats
Officers responded to the 400 block of South Camellia Street regarding an assault involving a vehicle. The victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, Cuactemoc Sandoval, 28, arrived at her residence and became upset. Sandoval rammed into the victim’s vehicle several times while the victim was inside it. Sandoval also threatened to kill a male subject at the scene prior to leaving. Sandoval’s vehicle was described as a white 1990’s model Toyota Camry. Sandoval also has two arrest warrants; however, his whereabouts is unknown at this time. Sandoval is being sought by police regarding this incident.
Robbery / Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
Officers responded to the 200 block of South C Street regarding a robbery that just occurred. The victim reported that he confronted four subjects who were walking through his property. The subjects then struck the victim above his right eye. The victim fell to the ground and the assault continued. The victim stated his wallet was taken during the incident. The suspects then fled the area eastbound through an apartment complex. An officer in the area contacted a 15-year-old juvenile and a 17-year-old soon after the incident occurred. Both juveniles were identified as being involved in the incident. One of the juveniles was also in possession of a fixed double edged prohibited dagger and both were taken into custody. The victim suffered a laceration over his right eye. Both juveniles were subsequently transported to the Juvenile Detention Facility where they were booked.
Petty Theft
Officers responded to the 200 block of South Main Street regarding a theft report. The victim reported that a suspect took his pink/white 15 speed Magna Mountain bike while he was inside a store.
Burglary
Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of North Westside Street regarding a residential burglary. The victim reported that suspect(s) entered her residence while she was in the back yard. The victim reported that her Dell laptop computer was taken. A neighbor reported that he observed a Hispanic male adult wearing a white and black sweatshirt leaving from the yard of victim’s residence during that time.
Burglary / Petty Theft /Fraudulent Use of an Access Card
Officers responded to the El Reventon Nightclub regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim reported that suspect(s) shattered her rear driver side window and stole her purse. The victim reported that her Bank of America card had been in her purse and was used Super 7 and Sierra Mini Mart on South Plano Street. Officers were investigating the above-listed vehicle burglary at El Reventon when an additional victim reported that suspect(s) entered her vehicle and stole two purses. The vehicle had been left unlocked. The victim reported that her Bank of America card had been in her purse and was used at Olive Express Mart, which is located directly across the street. The case remains under investigation. Officers were dispatched to Sierra Mini Mart on West Henderson Avenue regarding a found bag. The store clerk reported that an unknown customer turned in a bag and reported he found it on the roadway in front of the business. The bag was determined to be stolen from the vehicle burglary at the El Reventon and personal identification cards located in the bag were determined to be from a vehicle burglary report taken in the 1000 block of West Thurman Avenue. The property was secured and will be returned to the victims. The cases remain under investigation.
Burglary
Officers responded to the 100 block of South Cobb Street regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim reported that suspect(s) shattered her rear driver side window and stole two purses.
