Crime blotter 3/17/13
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It should be noted that only arrests are reported, and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Burglary
Officers responded to First Southern Baptist Church regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim reported that suspect(s) smashed the window to his vehicle and stole a case of CDs. The incident occurred between 9:00am and 10:30am while he was in church service.
Located Stolen Vehicle
Officers located an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the 200 block of West Grand Avenue. The vehicle was a full recovery. The victim responded and related his Kenwood Stereo and miscellaneous tools were missing from the vehicle. The vehicle was released to the registered owner at the scene.
Domestic Battery Arrest
Officers contacted Daniel Garcia, 32, in the 600 block of South Plano Street. Garcia was wanted for domestic battery and was taken into custody. He was booked at TCSO.
Public Intoxication / Indecent Exposure
Officers responded to the 200 block of North Hillcrest Street regarding a subject exposing himself in front of a residence. Officers contacted suspect Juan Chavez, 20, in the area and he was intoxicated. The victim reported that Chavez was standing next to a tree in front of her residence and was exposing himself. Chavez was taken into custody for public intoxication and indecent exposure.
Transportation of Marijuana for Sale
Officers contacted Michael Calvillo, 18, at Olive Avenue and Prospect Street during a traffic stop. During the contact, over 33 grams of marijuana, packaged in separate plastic baggies on the floorboard of his vehicle, was located. During the course of the investigation, Officers located additional evidence indicating Calvillo was involved in marijuana sales. Calvillo was taken into custody and transported to TCSO for booking.
Vehicle Burglary
Officers responded to Walmart regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim stated that while he was working inside of Walmart, suspect(s) punched the driver’s door lock out of his tan Chevy Silverado and stole his Kenwood CD player, two 10-inch Kenwood subwoofers and an amplifier.
Vehicle Burglary
Officers responded to the 99 Cent Store on West Henderson Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim stated that while she was inside the business working, a suspect punched the driver’s door lock out of her Chevy Tahoe and stole a JVC CD player from the dashboard.
Warrant Arrest
Officers responded to the sub-100 block of West Date Avenue regarding suspicious circumstances after a citizen called stating he observed a male subject climbing through a window of a residence. Officers arrived and contacted a female at the residence. While speaking with the female, they heard a subject flee out of the back of the residence. Further investigation identified the subject who fled as Michael Sean Sanchez, 18, who had a felony arrest warrant. Assisting officers arrived and established a perimeter. A PPD K-9 team began conducting a yard to yard search in the area. Sanchez was subsequently located in the backyard of a neighboring residence and was taken into custody without incident. He was later booked at the substation.
