Crime blotter 2/28/13

Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Thursday, Feb. 28

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
Officers contacted Daniel Champion, 46, at the PARR Center during a reckless driver call. He was under the influence of a controlled substance and taken into custody. He was booked at PPD.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Rudy Requejo, 20, during a family disturbance call at a residence in the 500 block of West Henderson Avenue. He had a warrant for his arrest and was booked TCSD.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
Officers contacted Shyann Magee, 21, at Olive Avenue and Westwood Street. Magee initially provided a false name and was under the influence of a controlled substance. She was booked at PPD.

Special Enforcement Team
Officers located Julia Wilhoyt, 29, on West Tomah Avenue. Wilhoyt was seen driving a stolen vehicle, which had been stolen in Porterville and recovered by CHP, Wilhoyt was transported to Bob Wiley and booked for possession of stolen property.

Vandalism
Officers responded to the 700 block of East Orange Avenue after a witness reported that he observed three subjects dressed in dark clothing running on Sierra Vista after he heard a car alarm sounding in the area. Officers searched the area and found a vehicle with an open door. The owner of the vehicle said he did not leave the door open; however, he checked the vehicle and discovered nothing was missing. Two other vehicles were also found to be unlocked and possibly gone through; however nothing was missing from those vehicles either. Both registered owners did not want a report; however, an incident report was taken anyway. PPD responded back out to the same apartment duplex twice later in the night for a vehicle vandalism and then for a vandalism to a residence window. Officers canvassed the area, including Sierra Vista and Andres Court.

Public Intoxication
Officers were in the area of El Reventon when they observed a subject fleeing on foot from them. The subject, David Zamudio, 24, fled toward the rear of El Reventon. Officers caught up with Zamudio and found him to be extremely intoxicated and placed him under arrest for public intoxication. As additional officers arrived in the area to assist, a different subject, Isidro Vega, 25, fled on foot away from a truck parked in the middle of the roadway on Maston Street at Olive Avenue. Officers detained Vega and he was also intoxicated. Both Zamudio and Vega were arrested for public intoxication and both were transported to the TCSD Main Jail and booked. The vehicle was towed for obstructing the roadway.

Public Intoxication
Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of West Olive Avenue regarding a female who was walking in the roadway. Officers arrived and contacted Ashley Dulay, 31, who was extremely intoxicated. Dulay was arrested for public intoxication.
