Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Burglary
Officers responded to Sierra Hills regarding a theft report. The victim reported that suspect(s) took several thousand dollars worth of collectable coins and money certificates from his office desk drawer. The victim last saw his collection in October of 2012 and noticed them missing today. Officers have a possible lead regarding the suspect, and the investigation is on-going.
Petty Theft / Possession of Stolen Property
Officers observed a vehicle Ford pickup truck in the 400 block of north Porter Road. The vehicle matched the description of a suspect vehicle where garden equipment was stolen from the 400 block of West Putnam the day prior. Suspects Robert Smithey, 56, and Muriel Bacich, 53, were contacted and interviewed. Officers went to Smithey’s residence on North H Street and recovered the stolen property. Both subjects were taken into custody. The property was returned to the victim.
Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Francine Bella, 23, at a residence in the 2100 block of West Morton Avenue regarding an arrest warrant. She had eight warrants totaling $100,000 bail. She was arrested and transported to Bob Wiley.
Burglary Arrest
Officers contacted Steven Stetts, 30, at a residence in the 300 block of South Main Street regarding a burglary investigation from the day prior. Stetts was taken into custody without incident and transported to TCSD. The investigation is ongoing to locate and arrest the additional suspect.
Auto Theft
Officers responded to a residence in the 1400 block of West Date Avenue regarding an auto theft report. The victim reported that suspect(s) stole his 2006 Chevy Silverado between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
Domestic Violence
Officers responded to the 1100 block of West Tomah Avenue regarding a domestic dispute in progress. The victim reported she was in an argument with her boyfriend, Jacob Cordova, 18. Cordova became upset and grabbed the victim by the shirt and pushed her, causing scratches to her chest. He was contacted at the scene and taken into custody without incident. Cordova was booked at PPD and later transported to TCSD for housing.
Public Intoxication / Resist Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of West La Vida Avenue regarding a physical fight. An officer arrived on scene and contacted Robert Alvarado, 24, outside of a residence. Alvarado was very belligerent and intoxicated and claimed he had just been assaulted by several females inside of the residence. While speaking with Alvarado, Selena Iniguez, 36, came outside of the residence and started yelling at Alvarado. Despite numerous orders to go back inside the residence, Iniguez refused and was uncooperative. The officer began to take Iniguez into custody, at which time she began to physically resist. Iniguez was very intoxicated and was taken into custody. Both Alvarado and Iniguez were subsequently booked into jail for public intoxication.
Domestic Violence
Officers responded to the area of Main Street and Doris Avenue regarding a report of a domestic dispute. Officers contacted the female victim who was standing on the corner of Main Street and Doris Avenue. The victim advised that her boyfriend and father of her children, Daniel Burrola, 25, punched her in the face and head several times with a closed fist. Burrola fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival, however, he returned to the scene approximately 30 minutes later and was arrested domestic violence. Burrola was served an Emergency Protective Order to stay away from the victim and booked into TCSD jail.
Auto Theft, Conspiracy, Presenting False ID to a Peace Officer, Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Officers responded to 558 North Sunnyside St. regarding a vehicle theft that had just occurred. The victim stated that two females had just stolen his black 1999 Ford Expedition that was left running with the keys in it. At approximately 11 p.m., the victim contacted the police department and stated that one of the females, later identified as Tashina Franco, 28, returned to the scene and went into an apartment. Officers arrived and contacted Franco, who initially provided a false name due to outstanding warrants for her arrest. Franco was positively identified as one of the two female suspects that stole the vehicle. Franco was arrested for above-listed charges and later booked.
Public Intoxication
Officers responded to Sno-White Laundry regarding an intoxicated subject yelling at customers. Officers arrived and contacted Loren Flowers, 44, who was intoxicated and had extreme difficulty following officers’ instructions. Flowers was arrested for public intoxication and later booked at the TCSD Porterville Substation.
