Pedestrian struck by car, driver flees
Porterville Police are seeking a driver of a vehicle who fled after striking a pedestrian early Monday morning.
Police said at about 8 a.m., a 38-year-old male who was about to get into his own vehicle parked in the 1700 block of W. Putnam Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that was westbound on Putnam.
The suspect stopped and got out briefly before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was described as a white male adult, 25 to 30 years old, with short brown hair, medium build, clean shaven wearing a beige coat. The suspect vehicle was described as an older gray box style pickup with a black or dark horizontal stripe along the side of the vehicle.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be older but in good condition and may have minor damage to the right side. The suspect also had two female passengers at the time of the collision.
