Crime blotter 12/09/12
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Auto Theft
Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of North Oxford Street regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim stated that his green 1993 Acura Integra was stolen from the roadway in front of his residence sometime between 1:00am and 7:00am.
Vandalism
Officers were dispatched to the parking lot behind Cherry Tree Catering regarding a vehicle burglary that had just occurred. The victim stated that she was not missing anything from her vehicle and the crime was determined to be vandalism. Officers contacted a witness who stated a white male juvenile, approximately 16-17 years old, riding a yellow BMX style bicycle threw a rock through the window of the victim’s vehicle and left on the bicycle. Physical evidence was located at the scene.
Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Roberto Zepeda, 34, at his residence regarding a warrant for his arrest. Zepeda was issued a citation and released in the field.
Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Antonio Granada, 52, in the area of Main Street and Vine Avenue. Granada had an active felony arrest warrant for violation of Post Release Community Supervision. He was later booked at the TCSO Porterville Substation.
Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Christina Cookson, 23, at a residence on North Atkins regarding an active warrant for her arrest. She was cited and released at the scene on a written promise to appear.
Robbery / Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Officers were flagged down by a victim at Olive Avenue and Main Street who related he was a victim of a robbery. The victim reported he was approached by subjects in a sedan in the area Indiana Street and Olive Avenue. The victim stated he thought the vehicle was going to run into to him so he threw a rock at the vehicle which struck the hood and windshield. The victim stated 4-6 subjects got out of the vehicle and started assaulting him. As the victim was struck on the head with a metal pipe, the subjects rummaged through his pockets. The subjects only took a pack of cigarettes then fled the area eastbound on Olive Avenue. The victim suffered from a bump to the back of his head and abrasions on his right arm, right leg and abdomen. He refused medical attention.
Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Ruben Ramirez, 22, during a domestic disturbance on South Camellia Street. Ramirez had an active warrant for his arrest. He was booked at PPD and later transported to TCSO.
