82-year-old registered sex offender accused of child sex abuse

An 82-year-old Tulare man has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a boy for five years.

The man, identified as William Wayne Henderson, is being held at the Tulare County Main Jail in lieu of $1.4 million bail on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department reports that the mother of the victim, who currently lives out of state, contacted the department’s Crimes Against Children Unit in October and learned reported the alleged assault.

The sheriff’s department said that Henderson is currently a registered sex offender.
