County chambers host legislative event
Congressman Devin Nunes, Assembly member Connie Conway and state Senator Jean Fuller will speak at the first Tulare County Business Legislative Summit on Friday, Oct. 26.
The 7:30-10:30 a.m. event will be held at the Galaxy Theatre located in the Tulare Outlet Center, and is open to the public by reservation only.
All legislators will provide updates addressing issues of importance to business operation and the districts they represent. Question-and-answer periods will follow.
The Business Legislative Summit is presented in a collaborative effort by the Dinuba, Exeter, Porterville, Tulare, and Visalia Chambers of Commerce and the Tulare-Kings Hispanic Chamber. Upon arrival, attendees will register, enjoying networking, and be treated to breakfast sponsored by the Southern California Gas Company.
Partnering Porterville Chamber President/CEO Donnette Carter commented on the upcoming event, “Our local chambers have a common goal of representing the interests of our businesses before government, and this includes access to our legislators who are making the decisions that impact us. We are enthused by this opportunity to collectively offer our members, and others, an event which brings multiple legislators together to share information, and hear from their constituents.” Carter also added, “I encourage people to arrive at the start of the gathering to fully take advantage of the breakfast networking time. With attendees from through-out the County, this event further serves as an enhanced opportunity to grow business.”
Reservations are required, and must be made online at tclegsummit2012.eventbrite.com. Members of the hosting chambers will receive complimentary admission. The cost is $25 for non-members. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited and the event is expected to sell-out.
