Child, 7, victim of physical abuse

Tulare County sheriff’s deputies reported at 8:30 a.m. Monday to Pixley Elementary School in response to a child abuse report.
The victim, 7, reported that her stepfather had abused her at 10 p.m. Sunday, leaving her with nonlife-threatening but visible injuries.
The suspect, who is also wanted for a felony warrant, fled before deputies arrived at his residence.
The victim was placed with Child Welfare Services during the investigation.
