Toys for Military Tots debuts second season
Local organization helps deliver toys to military families
Alex and Alesa Avila, a brother and sister duo, delivered the first toy of the season for Toys for Military Tots at the Porterville Developmental Center Plant Operations Office on Friday.
“They’re toys for the military children,” said Stacy Hill, a board member at Walk with Me Family services which is sponsoring their second toy drive. According to Hill the toys will be delivered from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, at Perko’s Cafe. Toys from zero to 18 are accepted and should be unwrapped. Boxes will be distributed in the following locations and will be available during business hours. Donations of money, which will be used to ship toys to deployed persons, or gifts will be accepted at Don Vino’s, Fashion Network, La Fuente Restaurant, The Elks and Eagles Lodges, the PDC, ITC at 244 North Main, Head Hunter, Country Pleasures, Holy Cross and Dickey’s BBQ.
