Tickets available for political symposium

THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

The Porterville Recorder’s Newspapers in Education program is hosting a political symposium Nov. 6 at the Springville Inn’s Stage Coach Bar & Grill.

President of the American Civil Rights Institute Ward Connerly and Freedom Communications Libertarian Advisor Tibor Machan will discuss issues affecting the Porterville area, such as healthcare, affirmative action and private property rights at the event titled Freedm Now 2009 Symposium.

The lunch begins at noon. Tickets are $50 per plate, and all proceeds will benefit the Newspapers in Education program.
