Meth bust nets three arrests
Police arrested three Porterville residents after they found packaged methamphetamine and $17,000 in cash during a search of their car Sunday, the Porterville Police Department reports.
Jonathan Waites, 25, Broderick Gomes, 29, and Joshua Peyron, 38 were booked at the Tulare County Jail on various charges.
Police say that just before 10 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of West Springville Drive regarding suspicious people at an apartment complex. There they contacted Waites, Gomes, and Peyron in the parking lot and all three were determined to be under the influence of drugs, the PPD reports.
During a search of the three men and of their car, police reportedly found packaged methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, digital scales and $17,000 in cash.
Waits was determined to be on active parole and Gomes was determined to have an active felony warrant for his arrest.
All three were booked on suspicion of transportation of narcotics for sales, under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Waites was additionally charged with a violation of parole.
