Temperatures closer to normal

recorder@portervillerecorder.com

With a forecast calling for both temperatures above 90 and a relative humidity which will hover above 25% during the hottest time of the day, the only form of relief for this muggy weekend will be the breeze, which will persist at around 15 miles an hour throughout the weekend.

However, temperatures will be in the low-90s for the first time in more than two months.

While rain isn’t predicted for those on the Valley floor, the National Weather Service says that Porterville will continue to see some cloud cover throughout the weekend. A low pressure system moving across Northern California, the Sierra Nevada, north of Kings Canyon, may bring isolated thunderstorms Sunday.

This system will bring lower temperatures next week. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will all see highs in the upper 80s, lows in the 60s.

According to the San Joaquin Valley Air Control District, Saturday’s air quality forecast will be unsafe for sensitive groups.
