Light agenda before supervisors
A relatively light agenda awaits Tulare County supervisors Tuesday for their regularly scheduled weekly meeting.
On the consent calendar — items are routinely voted on together unless someone requests the item be removed for discussion — is a request to prohibit parking along West North Grand Avenue just east of Rose Street.
The agenda item indicates a concerned citizen has requested the painting of the curb red because they say parking there makes the intersection unsafe.
The parking would be prohibited 70 feet along the north side of the roadway.
According to a staff report, the parking is only a problem when there are large services at the Holy Cross Catholic Church.
In other matters, the board will:
- Consider the application for a $180,000 Caltrans grant for public transportation.
- Hear a presentation on Step Up efforts in District One.
- Proclaim 2013 as the Year of the Child.
The Tulare County Board of Supervisors meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday, in the county administration building, 2800 W. Burrel Ave., Visalia.
