Crime Blotter 02/05/13
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It should be noted that only arrests are reported, and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Burglary
Officers were dispatched to 2500 West Henderson regarding a burglary. The victim stated subject(s) made entry into the apartment. There were no signs of forced entry. Once inside, the subject(s) took a cardboard box containing collector coins and a pair of earrings.
Burglary / Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
Officers were dispatched to Save Mart on West Henderson Avenue regarding a theft from the store. While en route, officers learned Save Mart employees were chasing the two subjects. After a brief search, officers located Lisa Kimble and Carlos Champion. It was determined that both Kimble and Champion entered the store and stole merchandise. Both were under the influence of a controlled substance and were arrested and booked into the Tulare County Jail.
Burglary of an Inhabited Residence
Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of West Tomah Avenue regarding a burglary. Officers contacted the victim who stated at noon today an unknown subject forced entry into his residence. The victim reported he was in the living room when he heard a loud noise coming from the southeast bedroom of the residence. The victim went to the bedroom and found a subject, wearing a red hoodie and blue jeans, crawling in the bedroom window. The subject’s body was halfway in when he saw the victim. The subject then quickly ran and rode away on a chrome bicycle. The subject pried the bedroom window open with an unknown tool. No items were taken from the residence.
Injury TA
Officers responded to the area of Kanai Avenue and Westwood Street regarding a vehicle versus bicyclist collision. Upon arrival, it was determined that a driver in a Chevy Suburban struck two juvenile bicyclists. The 15-year-old and 13-year-old bicyclists were transported to Sierra View District Hospital for complaints of pain. Both were treated and released. The driver reported her foot slipped off the brake while at the stop sign of Kanai Avenue as the juveniles were riding in front of her.
Strong Arm Robbery
Officers responded to Porterville High School regarding a strong arm robbery that just occurred. The victim stated he was jumped by several Northern gang members and his cell phone was taken. The victim said he was on campus, and had just left a night class, and was charging his cell phone near the quad. While there, three Hispanic males, 17 to 18 years old, started assaulting him. The suspects then took his phone and fled the campus on foot. The victim had minor injuries and several witnesses were contacted on campus providing descriptions of the suspects. Further investigation is being completed.
