Crime blotter 1/30/13
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.
Wednesday, Jan. 30
Vehicle Burglary
Officers were dispatched to Target regarding a burglary. The victim stated at 11:16 a.m., subject(s) forced entry into her blue 2006 GMC Sierra pick up truck. Once inside, the subject(s) took a Kindle brand car stereo and 13 inch speaker. Physical evidence was located at the scene and collected. The investigation is ongoing and officers are attempting to locate and arrest the suspects.
Burglary
Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of South Jaye Street regarding a burglary. The victim stated that between November 2012 and today at 1 p.m., subject(s) forced entry into her vacant rental apartment. Entry was made by an unknown pry tool. Once inside, the subject(s) took a stove duct, gas stove and a GE dishwasher.
Traffic Unit:
The traffic unit conducted extra patrol in the areas of Belleview Elementary, Burton Elementary, Monache High and Porterville High schools today. Pedestrian enforcement was conducted in the area of Jaye Street and Olive Avenue after school at Porterville High School. Several violations were observed but the number of those violations has dropped considerably since extra enforcement efforts began in the area a few weeks ago.
Warrant Arrest
Officer Calloway noticed smoke coming from the area of Plano Street and the Porter Slough. The smoke was coming from a small fire underneath the bridge where Aaron Wallace, 41, was located. Wallace had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and was arrested. He was later cited and released from the PPD.
