Crime blotter 11/3/12
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Resist Arrest / Possession of Methamphetamine / Parole Violation
An officer attempted to contact Raul Placencia, 30, running through 109 North E Street. As the officer attempted to contact him, Placencia fled and continued to run toward G Street. The officer caught Placencia and Placencia was on CDCR Parole for burglary. Placencia was also in possession of methamphetamine and was booked at the TCSO Porterville Substation.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
An officer contacted Nikki Tompkins, 43, at Morton Avenue and Belmont Street during a pedestrian contact. She was determined to be under the influence and was taken into custody.
Robbery
Officers were dispatched to Grand Avenue and Prospect Street regarding a robbery that just occurred. A CHP officer was flagged down at Morton Avenue and Newcomb Street by a female victim who had her cell phone taken by a male subject. The subject, Victor Raya, 18, was located running on Prospect Street and was arrested after the cell phone was located on his person. He was booked at TCSO for housing.
Warrant Arrest
An officer contacted Jeffery Privette, 52, during a traffic stop at Second Street and Mill Avenue. He had an active warrant for his arrest. He was booked at PPD and released on a cite to appear.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Officers contacted Jose Borquez, 29, at Second Street and Olive Avenue. He was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and booked at PPD.
Burglary
Officers were dispatched to Sears regarding an alarm call. Officers located the front glass door shattered. Officers set up a perimeter and a TCSO K9 was utilized. Physical evidence was located at the scene and a hole was cut out of the chain link fence. It was determined that a 40” flat screen TV and a 46” flat screen TV were taken.
Day shift officers continued the burglary investigation. During the investigation, officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of West River Avenue and located one of the stolen televisions. After further investigation, Ruben Longoria, 40, who resides at the residence, was arrested for possession of stolen property and also being in possession of a sawed-off shotgun. Longoria was later booked at the TCSO substation and the television was returned to the owners of Sears.
Warrant Arrest
An officer contacted Carmen Patel, 60, during a traffic stop at Vandalia Avenue and Jaye Street. She had an active warrant for her arrest and was booked at PPD.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
Officers contacted Kuah Cha, 27, in the 500 block of West Putnam Avenue during an unwanted subject call. He was under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken into custody.
