Main Street Subway closing for five months
Restaurant getting a new look
Avtar Singh said his Main Street Subway sandwich shop will close tonight and remain closed for as long as five months for a complete remodeling project.
“We will reopen in January of 2013,” he said.
Singh plans to demolish the existing store at the corner of Main Street and Oak Avenue and replace it with a new subway. The new building will be two-stories with room for his office upstairs.
“We want to make it a nicer looking building,” he said.
The store will officially close at 9 p.m. today.
Singh has four other Subway restaurants in the area, three in Porterville and one in Springville.
They will not be affected by the closure.
Singh has been planning the project for a while and said he believes customers will be pleased with the new look. The existing Subway opened in 1997.
