Man found with stolen jewelry arrested
A man was arrested after being found with what the Porterville Police Department believed were items stolen from a Porterville home.
Marcos Valencia was booked on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia Saturday evening, the PPD reported.
At approximately 7 p.m., officers contacted Valencia in the area of Prospect Street and Putnam Avenue. He matched the description of a residential burglary suspect who stole jewelry and various other items from a residence on Friday. Valencia also had two Tulare County warrants for his arrest on drug-related charges.
Valencia was in possession of items that were stolen during the residential burglary on Friday, PPD reported, as well as stolen property taken during previously reported Porterville residential burglaries. He was also positively identified at the scene as the burglary suspect who was observed by witnesses during the crime.
Valencia was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and under the influence of a controlled substance. He was booked at Tulare County Jail.
