Police catch Visalia man with stolen pickup

Recovered: Truck returned to rightful owner.

THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

Police arrested a man Wednesday who was allegedly in possession of a stolen truck.

Officers from the Porterville Police Department and members of the Tulare Reduce Auto Theft Task Force arrested Visalia resident Steven Bennett, 22, at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of South Jaye Street.

Bennett was allegedly in possession of a stolen 2007 Ford F-150 pickup which was stolen from Visalia resident Walter Hutcheson.

Hutcheson reported the theft on July 6 to the California Highway Patrol office in Visalia.

The truck was returned to Hutchenson.

Bennett was was booked into the Tulare County Main Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property and violation of parole.
